Schools and corporates are very similar in terms of rolling out their brands - they each have a large number of staff who use the brand and as such a quality image bank, education around the brand and a thorough brand guidelines document is essential.
Ellerslie School came to me with an existing logo but ZERO consistency around how it was used, PLUS the original vector file had gone missing somewhere along the line and needed redrawing.
I tidied and redrew their logo, redesigned their school & corporate communication documents and supplied them with a library of files that teachers, PTA, board and fundraising groups could all access and utilise.
It was important to retain a corporate look for official school communications and a fun and colourful look for communications with students and parents.
I also redesigned the school's website which was clunky, confusing and VERY time intensive for the teachers to update. During that process, I utilised the schools Google Doc system, updated the parent information files to reflect the tidied brand, and integrated the live docs into their website...
...meaning when an info doc needs updating (a new teacher for example), the staff now only need to simply update a Google Doc in one place and the changes are automatically integrated with the website. This means less work for teachers and support staff and a higher likelihood that all information is up to date at all times, across all channels.
