Shop Local
ELLERSLIE VILLAGE | BRAND CAMPAIGN | BRAND IDENTITY DESIGN
Keep the heart of Ellerslie beating
The great lockdown of 2020 saw many small businesses and local business associations encouraging their communities to "Shop Local" in order to help out our neighbour business owners in their time of need. Previously having re-branded my home suburb into what’s now known as Ellerslie Village, town-centre manager Megan approached me during lockdown to create a brand for their “Shop Local” campaign.
It needed be visually cohesive with the existing Ellerslie Village brand identity, as well as bringing heart and compassion to the mix. And most of all, it needed to be created quickly so that it could be rolled out during the lockdown, both within the village and on their website and social media channels.
The business association made use of the brand campaign through flags and banners, signage and window and footpath stickers. They saw a huge spike in website traffic to their website www.ellerslievillage.co.nz during this time as locals united to find local businesses to support with their online spend during lockdown.
Local businesses made use of the brand campaign through video, stickers, carry bags and social media posts and it gained the attention of Seven Sharp when they caught up with some of our locals during the more recent lockdowns in February 2021.
